Needlecrafts

Needlecrafts are fun and creative activities you can do with your hands, a needle or crafting tooland different materials. Some popular types of needlecrafts are embroidery, cross-stitch, knitting, crochet, and felting. Each of these crafts has its own special techniques and is a great way to express your creativity!

PROJECT OUTCOMES

Doing needlecrafts teaches a unique blend of practical art skills, brain benefits, and life habits.

Members will strengthen skills in:

  • Color Theory: Mixing and matching yarn or thread palettes visually.

  • Spatial Awareness: Translating flat, 2D printed charts into 3D textures.

  • Fabric Knowledge: Understanding how various textiles stretch, pull, and work together.

  • Pattern Reading: Deciphering technical grids, symbols, and abbreviated stitching instructions. 

  • Patience: Embracing the slow, steady process of creating something stitch by stitch.

  • Problem Solving: Learning how to fix mistakes and untangle knots logically.

  • Designing & Creating beautiful hand-made items.​
